FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is MiniSite Wars?

MiniSite Wars is an annual competition first held in 2007. It is primarily run through the Warrior Forum the basic concept is 32 designers battle it out designing specs paid for by people requiring graphics work. 2 designers are drawn to compete against each other. They have 7 days to design the site for the client. Both designs become property of the client and they are judged to select a winner. The victor then progresses to the next round.

What kind of designs should I expect from paying for a battle spot in MiniSite Wars 2008?

There are some very talented minisite designers that are members at the Warrior Forum. Some of last years entrants were well known designers such as Design Guru Ryan, eCover Frog, eCoverNinja, GraphicsGenie, MiniSite Studio, eCoversLab and many more talented designers. The links below show a small sample of designs that were created in the 2007 event. Don't forget that if you purchase a design spot you will get 2 designs for the specs.

7Dollar Tools | Auction Secret Profits | Loco Marketer | Moth Marketing | Newbie Campus

I'm considering buying a design spot, how much will it cost me?

The prices of the design spots vary as to which round you purchase your spot, the thinking behind this is due to the better designers progressing to the later rounds, therefore the chances of getting 2 great designs increase. Oh, and the exposure doesn't harm either.

Our 1st round spots, currently available (16 spots) you can purchase by clicking here

Here is the breakdown of the round prices, currently only 1st round spots are open, if you would like a spot in a later round please contact me

Round 1 - $97
Round 2 - $147
Quarter Finals - $297
Semi Finals - $397
Final Battle - $497

Wow! The prices are great, so what graphics will I get once I purchase my MiniSite Wars Spot?

Once you purchase your battle spot, I (Darren from Graphics Genie) will contact you to discuss your graphics specifications, the elements you will get in your design are as follows:

Header
Footer
eCover (4 sizes)
Order Button
Graphical dotpoint... typically a 'tick'
Background
All the above on an HTML template ready for you to enter your sales copy

If you would like to have a heads up on the questions you will have to answer after your purchase please download the spec sheet by clicking here

I'm interested in one of the spots in the later rounds, what kind of timeline should I expect?

During MiniSite Wars 2007 we did have some downtime due to some spots been unsold. I will do my utmost to stop this happening so that we can keep the timeline and competition momentum. Also I am aware that the this is MiniSite Wars 2008 and want it to be completed this year too.

I have put together my ideal timeline for the competition, if you do hear of anyone looking for any graphics please send them over to MiniSite Wars.

How do I know that the designer draw is will be done fairly?

During MiniSite Wars 2007 Graphics Genie (my company) actually participated in the competition, although I am not the person in my company that creates the graphics I wanted to distance myself from the draw. Last year this was completed by Michelle Brouse (eCoverFX) who together with her children actually videoed the live draw.

This year Graphics Genie has decided not to participate in the competition so that I can take a more hands on role in the competition.

I will create a pdf of all the 32 designers together with a number allocated to each. This will be sent to 3 very well respected marketers on the Warrior Forum for verification. At no given date I will post a thread on the forum to request random numbers from 1 - 32 in any order. These will be collected by myself from the thread and using the designer key I will formulate the pairings. These pairings will then be used in the typical draw format.

Once the designers have started on my design can I contact them with further details?

No! Once your design has been started, and the specs passed across to the designers and they have both acknowledged you cannot contact them. If you wanted to pass on any extra information you will need to come through me, I would then contact BOTH designers so that  the competition is kept fair. Likewise if a designer wanted further clarification on the specifications, they would contact me, I would contact the client for the clarification and again BOTH designers would get the information.

I have a few friends who I think might be interested in buying a spot, do you have a referral system?

We don't have any referral system in place specifically for MiniSite Wars as the majority of the money in will be paid out as prize money, and the difference will cover our costs.

But what I will offer is this:

If you send anyone to MiniSite Wars who purchase a design spot and mention you specifically then I will give you a voucher for a $100 discount from Graphics Genie, our graphics and video work is very highly regarded in the Internet Marketing community, you can see some of our work here:
